STARTING OVER ON BLACKBERRY LANE RECIPE CONTEST

One of Icicle Falls’ finest, Beth Mallow, is putting together a cookbook of her late mom’s family recipes, and Sheila reports that Beth would like to add an original recipe (either a main course or a dessert) from a Sheila reader. So Sheila is running a contest to find that recipe! (Okay, the cookbook is fictional, but the fun and the prizes are for real.)

    A team of three judges will select their favorite five recipes from among all that have been entered in both categories by the March 10, 2017 deadline. Judging will be based on completeness of recipes, appropriateness of recipes for category entered, and personal appeal of recipes to the team of judges. While readers are encouraged to submit a photograph for any recipe entered in the contest, such photograph or lack thereof will not impact the judging. The five recipes selected by the team of judges as their favorites will become finalists in the contest. Beginning March 13, 2017, on this page, readers will then vote on their favorite of the five finalist recipes, which will be listed here. The finalist recipe getting the most votes by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 will be named the Grand Prizewinning Recipe. The reader submitting the Grand Prizewinning Recipe will win a Rachael Ray Cucina Hard Enamel Nonstick 12-piece Cookware Set with a retail value of $149.97 U.S. and a signed, mass market paperback copy of STARTING OVER ON BLACKBERRY LANE, with a retail value of $7.99. Those who submitted the four finalist recipes that do not win the Grand Prizewinning Recipe contest will each receive a signed copy of STARTING OVER ON BLACKBERRY LANE, retail value $7.99. The Grand Prizewinning Recipe will be featured on Sheila Roberts’ website after the contest has terminated. The submitter of the Grand Prizewinning Recipe will be responsible for paying any and all income taxes associated with winning the prize. The contest is null and void where prohibited.

    Readers who submit recipes are encouraged but not required to indicate on the entry form the Internet website where they learned about the contest. The Internet website from which the submitter of the Grand Prizewinning Recipe learned about the contest will win a complete, signed, 10-book mass market paperback set of Sheila Roberts’ Life in Icicle Falls novels to give away on that website in the manner of that site’s choosing. The retail value of that 10-book set is $79.90. The site winning the 10-book set will be responsible for paying any and all incomes taxes associated with winning the prize.

    Entries are limited to the 50 U.S. states and Canada. Entries must be original recipes and not previously published in any cookbook or otherwise copyrighted. A reader may submit as many recipes as she or he likes. The decision of the judges in selecting the five finalist recipes will be final. In case of a tie in selecting the finalist recipes, there may be more than five finalist recipes. In voting for the Grand Prizewinning Recipe among the five finalists, readers may only vote once. In case of a tie in reader voting for the Grand Prizewinning Recipe, a duplicate prize will be awarded. Employees and/or family members of Sheila Roberts, Harlequin Enterprises, Nancy Berland Public Relations and the recipe judges are prohibited from entering the contest.
